Best activities to try before you die

Best activities to try before you die

Since diving still scores second on our ‘best activities to try before you die’ (first, if you think the Everest skydive is just a tiny bit off your thrill seeker profile!), we wish more people had the chance to try it out. We know you don’t want your kid to be zip-lining somewhere in Zambia for some quite some time still, so we’ve got a better alternative.

Days well spent

Days well spent

Days well spent, that’s what Fiera di Agosto is all about! And although it’s not only been Italian holidaymakers joining TGI Dhiggiri snorkelling and diving activities, we’ve managed to make live up to the la dolce vita philosophy to the full this last week. A full day diving and snorkelling sounded like a good idea given the perfect weather and sea conditions. Eventhough the resort offers several chill out options and encourages you to enjoy doing nothing but relaxing, most of the guest still like to wake up early and spend their day out on the ocean.

With this year’s Manta season around TGI Dhiggiri kicking off already at the end of May, the currents have been acting funny lately and the ones bringing water into the atoll seem to be more favorable to our second favourite member of the sharks and rays family.

The Casmassi Group

This week saw the TGI team on Dhiggiri play host to the Casmassi Group, who turned up the tempo with 3 to 4 dives every day while on the island!

The group had some fantastic dives as the TGI team tied their best to show them the full variety of what the Maldives has on offer! Big fish, macro subjects and some great night dives were enjoyed by all.

A special congratulations has to go out to Coco,

Sharks, sharks, sharks...and more sharks!

The TGI Maldives team at Dhiggiri were blown away this week by an incredible show of grey reef sharks in Myaru Kandu that truly amazed Karl and Maria from Austria!

With too many sharks around to actually count, the dive was, of course, a big hit with the guests! Hanging onto the ledge of the channel, the sharks even came close enough to Maria and Karl to pose for a photo!

Milestones on Dhiggiri!

Milestones on Dhiggiri!

It takes time to notch up 500 logged dives, but this week saw Heinz do just that with the TGI team at Dhiggiri!

However, the limelight was stolen by Kristine who claimed her 600th logged dive!

Congratulations to both of you for an incredible achievement. We hope that there will be many more to come in the future.

Empy was busy this week with a lot of shark action at Myaru Kandu, and was lucky enough to encounter a leopard shark as well.

Ghostpipe fish found at Dhiggiri!

This week saw a break from all of the big fish action from recent weeks for divers at Dhiggiri, with Alessandra finding 2 ornate ghostpipe fish at Ikoga Thila. These small critters are not incredibly beautiful, but are also very hard to spot as they camouflage themselves
