Helengeli Island

TGI Maldives dive center at Helengeli

The international and multilingual instructor team of TGI Maldives welcomes you at Helengeli. We provide diving courses from beginners through to professional level. Located near the Reception and the Spa, we are open from 08:30 to 12:30, and from 14:30 to 18:00. The house reef and the dive sites around Helengeli offer a rich diversity of marine life, colorful fishes and corals. Join our snorkeling and diving excursions to discover the underwater wonders around this beautiful resort.

Check-in

Check-in for divers and all information on diving and diving courses: daily, from 08:30 to 12:30, and from 14:30 to 18:00. The multilingual team will check you in and give you information on dive sites, diving safety rules and prices. For check-in, please bring your diving certification, logbook and your medical certificate if you have one.

Orientation dive

After check-in, an orientation dive for the following day will be scheduled. It is a normal fun dive that will be made at a shallow depth either on our house reef or on a dive site reached by boat. This dive includes the practice of the basic safety skills such as mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy check.

Left your diving certification at home?

If it is an SSI or a PADI certification, then we can check online with SSI & PADI. With any other organization we will need a photocopy of the certification card or a fax, email or letter from the training organizations head office stating your diving qualification.

Boat trips

We offer both morning and afternoon boat dive trips. The morning boat dive trips leave at 08:45 for a single dive, at 07:45 for 2 dives. The afternoon boat dive trip leaves at 14:30 and only includes 1 dive.

Night dives

Our house reef offers amazing night dives. We can also organize night dives from the boat upon request.

Reservations

If you have already checked in with us, done your paperwork and completed your check dive then you may sign up by 17:00 the day before for the morning dives, by 12:00 the same day for the afternoon dives.

Diving Courses

Thanks to our multilingual team, we offer diving courses in English, German, Italian, Spanish and French. Please note that completing a medical form is compulsory to take part in any of the courses offered. Alternatively, a medical certificate from a doctor stating that you are fit to participate in scuba diving activities will be accepted. The minimum age for all diving activities is 8 years and anyone under 18 years must have a parent or guardian to sign and complete the medical form or show a doctor’s certificate.

Private instructor & Private Boat Charters

For those looking for a one to one diving experience, private guides/instructors and private boat charters are available upon request and at an additional charge.

Nitrox 32 Diving

TGI Maldives at Helengeli offers Nitrox diving for those qualified; courses are available for the non-nitrox certified.

Photo & Video Services

TGI Maldives dive center also offers a variety of services such as private photo or video shooting sessions both above and under the water.

Excursions

TGI Maldives provides several types of boat excursions covering a wide range of activities, from simply relaxing on a deserted sandbank, to snorkeling and diving on beautiful reefs, or watching dolphins during a sunset cruise. Private Boat Hires

Charter your own boat and enjoy a relaxing cruise around the island. Visit sandbanks, snorkel amazing reefs or simply sunbathe. The boat can be hired for at least 2 hours, and up to half day. During the excursion, our crew will serve you snacks, fruits and soft drinks. For more information, come and see us at the dive center.

Special Requests

The above are our regular scheduled excursions and activities, we are happy to tailor make any combination of the above activities on private boat hires, snorkeling, diving, or just cruising, the choice is yours. For more information, come and see us at the dive center.

Watersports Center

The Watersports Center at Helengeli offers non motorized water sports free of charge, including kayak, pedalos and SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard).

The Waterports center also offers a number of motorized water sports, including inflatable tow rides, flyboard, kneeboarding, wakeboarding, waterskiing, parasailing, jet ski. Fees are levied for these activities.

For your safety TGI Watersports requires that you wear a life vest when participating in any water based activities.
